    Floraliën

    Location: Gent - bijlokesite / Gent - Leopoldskazerne / Gent - Sint-Pietersplein / Gent - Citadelpark

Flowers bring life into the house.

So why not fill the whole town with flowers?

Fast Forward took on this task and ensured good, logistic potting soil to plant the prestigious Floralies Gent.

Of course, those plants do not place themselves in formation. No, that required some well-designed choreography; one that Fast Forward prepared a year and a half ago, after which you can start on a thirty-day sample production, to assign each plant to its place. Some will shine on their own, while others will be part of state-of-the art installations.

Four locations in the historical core of Gent were drenched in the world of fauna and even more so, Flora.

These four locations formed the junctions along the track that started and ended at the Saint Pieters train station. 4.91km of trees will show you the way. They each tell their own story. And thanks to modern technology, you can take that literally.

At the Bijloke site you will shake hands with Azaleas and bow to Bonsais. Here, Belgium welcomes guest country Japan in all its facets.

The Leopolds barracks brought ancient stories from mythology to life. Behemoths of trees, fantasy figures, tree horoscopes and a 225m2 labyrint of laurels contributed to a magical experience.

The Saint Peter's Square had become a floral Delorian. You discovered the meaning of gardens of the past, but also new types and the application of new technologies in horticulture.

The Citadel park went for pure flower power under the well-known name of ‘Flower Power’. The relationship between nature, art and ecology was put in the spotlight here.
